Yesterdays project = Todays fun/problems
Last night I built my TID, which gave me an excuse to install my new K&N cone, among other things. I put a new ACV gasket on, (there wasnt one on there!), as well as a good BAC valve, I was pretty sure mine was shot, and TwinCam13BT hooked me up. I also took this opportuninty to replace the hose between the Turbo piping and the BOV, it was so hard, and wiggled around, it had to be leaking. It was also atmosphere vented.
Anyway: So I get it all together, and decide to take it for a spin. Reminder, I have no plates, so its a short trip. Go out onto a main road, being easy until its warm. I gave it some gas, not much, and it felt pretty good. Then I move into it, about 1/2-5/8 and it dies. I tried downshifting, and it wouldnt catch. Gas, no response. So I coast onto a sidestreet, Immediately knowing whats wrong, it happens to everyone. Yep, vac hose popped off. Back on it goes, one of those bastards on the back, start it up, and she goes. Going back home, good thing I havent seen a cop yet, Give it a little run. Feeling the TID/Cone filter in full effect. Definate improvement, pulling, around 9psi. I didnt get a good look, but atleast its running rich. Decide to go home. Reminder, the road is being repaved, and is quite torn up. So im stopped, waiting to turn left on my street, when some ******** behind me in a Neon starts honking. I looked in the reaarview, and proceeded to give the front of his car some new chips in the paint. Went to the next street on the right, Ill just turn around. I hear some sirens, and whip around in this neighboorhood. I did do a mini-burnout for the neon. I dont know if the cop was looking for me or not, but I wasnt going to find out. Soon I didnt hear any sirens and went back home.
The vented BOV sounds absolutely wicked. Now the car tends to idle around 2K, but its better than dying, which is all it did before(untli it was warm anyway.) That seems to be my only problem now. If I can figure out the idle, Ill go get it liscensed. I guess now I caan go set my tps and idle, and see if it helps. Any ideas besides that?

The checkvalve I used was a pool pump acessory I believe. I found it by the sump pump accessories, as recommended by someone on here. Dont bother going to the plumbing section! I wasted too much time in too many hardware stores looking for the right check valve. Just ask someone where the sump pump accessories are. Anyway, get one with a spring closing mechanism, preferrably plastic. If you can find a metal one, great, use it. I also had to buy a 1" male to 1/2" male hose adapter. My mom sold our digicam but my gf said she would bring hers over tomorrow, so I can get you some pics then. As for my TID, ill get pics of that too. It was hard to get it in there, mine dosent look too much like everyone elses, I dont understand how they mounted theirs so the fan or the air pump dont hit it. I have a jspec airpump, which is smaller, and theres like a 1/2 inch clearence between it and the TID. It all cosst me about 30 bucks
