go bang on teh starter with a wrench or maglight. give it several firm whacks, if it fires up you need to get teh starter replaced/rebuilt. Any local starter/generator shop should be able to do it for less than a new starter or battery for that matter. FTW, my starter went a few months back and had it rebuilt for $20, starts perfect every morning.

flat/dead spot on the starter....i have the same prob, i just click it a few times and it usually works. In your cse, it would seem that it may be necessary to replace the starter, as it is too weak now. Also check the voltage @ the battery, make sure it is not a bad battery (battery=30-60 bux, starter=60+ bux). Should read no lower than 12.5 (or so i hear). Might get away with 12.

Lol he beat me to it...Do what he said as well, I used to have that prob in a couple cars that I owned. The starter gear gets jammed....

You can get away with 12V at the battery, but it's difficult, if it's under 12 either recharge it or pour water in it and that usually helps. Or buy a new one. (If the battery could be the problem)

i think the main problem was the battery cause the engine and starter only have 3000 miles on them

if hitting it with the hammer helped then go have it looked at, take the car to autozone or another parts place that offers free battery and alternator tests. Chances are it is your starter.
