I just got a new water pump, so im replacing the old one. I took off all the bolts and nuts and everything (except the 4 studs on the water pump pulley) I dont know how to get those bastards out, and i cant get the pulley itself off. Im not talking the pulley belt... but the water pump pulley. It wont come off because it doesnt have clearance due to my crank pulley. If anyone has experienced this problem and solved it, id greatly appreciate your help. Thank you.

yea iw as thinking that i need to take the crank pulley off. I have another s4 motor here and an s5 and both of them have crank clearance, i wonder why that is. Oh well ill just take it off.

I of the times that I have removed the water pump, I had to remove the lower pullies also. Thats very easy to do though. 4 bolts and they are off.
Do yourself a favor before you remove them though. Take a grease pencil and make a line on all the lower pullies. This makes it easier to re-align them later for reinstallation.

im also having a problem with pulleys...
either the ac or power steering on the accessory rack....the damn thing wont come off.... my friends is just gonna take off the rack once we get the engine out and use his air gun at work....
why in the world would a damn pulley be so stubborn?

It was fairly easy to remove the main pully its just four bolts and its off. All I did was get a proper angel for the bolt and it would break loose every time for all four bolts. try countering it with a friend using another socket/ratchet on another bolt(him tightening and you loosening) This will break them loose if they are rusted on or something then you can remove them easier.
