Question Is it worth it?? 86 N/A

I found a 86 N/A 5 speed for $1,000. Its in ok condition, driver's side fender, fender molding and blinker need to be replaced and a small dent in the door, passenger's side tail light needs to be replaced. passenger side door wont open from the outside, there is some rust on the sunroof. All glass is good. The motor needs to be rebuilt or replaced(??) it has 120k miles on it. the girl didnt know the coolent hose was off and well over heated, the guy says it just needs new rotor seals. The car is pretty much guted the intorior of the car is in good shape, every thing is in the back of the car, it has brand new OZ Racing wheels and tires and new brakes and it has be debaged Is the car worth 1K? What will it cost to get the motor running right? would that be worth it for an N/A? what are common swaps?

thanks

common swaps? another rotary.

it will likely be expensive to get it running again, depending on if you do it yourself or whatnot

considering your in the USA (1k USD Money), i wouldn't buy it.

-blown motor
-gutted (?)
-bodywork (?)

i wouldn't do it..

I've seen lots of rex's for sale in carolina on eBay. They're selling for about $500-$700 with blown motors and look in a lot better shape than what you described.

Check it out.

iIjust bought a base for 1500.00. The paint is really good (minor scratches). 150k on her and plenty of get-up left! Interior is clean. I would not get it. I sold a 86 GXL for 1300.00. First RX I had w/ 250k on it. (several years back)

I am new to the Rx7, but i have been lookin for them for about one year (im only 16) so i couldnt do much about it when i found one before. I would like a turbo, but i dont have a lot of money, i think im going to have to stick to N/A. My dad has a 99 vette and he is always showing me vids of vette's raceing other cars and i only see 2 cars that can keep up with it (with out very heavy moding) is a 93+ Rx7 and the newset Supra(i dont know the year) and i cant afford the 93+ so i have to get the next best thing. I have always love the Rx7 good stlying, performance, ect. I just need a nice (not perfect) one to buy.
