Yeah, I have recently heard of a few wiring changes when the Turbo was phased into the US market on cars with a production date of jan 86 and later.

wow. it has certainly been a long time. i started working on my car again and here's how it is.
all my warning lights are on when i turn the key to the on position. hatch, overheat exh. , washer, door, stop, fuel, coolant, charge, and oil.
battery is fully charged.
i got the engine cranking again.
checked for continuity from alternator to starter. everything in order here.
tried 3 different alternators and had same problem. anyways, im pretty sure a faulty alternator only sends off the 'charge' warning light.
i checked and i have no blown fuses.
i also get 3 beeps from the car when i turn the key to "on" which i believe simply means, "electrical problem".
i also noticed that no warning lights come on if i disconnect the connector from the back of the alternator.
so... im lost. i really think i must have disconnected an important wire somewhere or something.
could a faulty ground wire in one of the wiring harnesses cause this? what lights come on when u guys turn your key to "on"?

The alt not working will set almost all the warning lights on
Please read the FAQ for FC at the top of this section as both problems are covered in it.

The key being turned to ON should produce all the idiot lights coming on.
Are you really saying that with the engine running that all the idiot lights are still on???? IF that is the case, then the relay in the CPU is bad OR the alternator wires are crossed at the alternator OR???????
See the alternator in the far right of the picture???? See the relay nearby?????? See how if the relay is pulled in that a ground is put on the path to the idiot lights???? When the alternator is not running, the relay pulls in and puts a ground on the idiot light cluster. When the alternator is putting out.....the relay is relaxed, eliminating the ground to the idiot light cluster. That's on a 87car.

oh yeah, is there any way to make the beeping go away? i took off my power steering so i need to know if there is a wire i can cut or something to make the BEEPING STOP! AHHHH! its driving me crazy!
