wiring/Injector/flooding issues, need help
So I got my engine rebuilt and ported for my 10AE and were finishing everything up. We used the engine harness that came with the spare which had square red off set injector plugs Now the ones that originally came with the car look like this below dont fit.
which apears to be purple square center
Since we've used this harnes, the car has always smoked, but now were having a hard time starting and it is still flooding.
the harness has red square offset plugs.
So the original injectors (purple square center injectors) dont fit.
I have no clue what to do at this point only because the wiring harnes with the red injector offset is claimed to be an s4TII harness as well.
thanks for the help guys

if the harness is for the offset notch,, then that harness is for a later s4 with ballast resister block delete
these offset notch injectors are saturated type, high ohming,, and so do not need a resister block
if the injectors you have are middle notch,, they are peak hold,, low ohming
the loom for them originally had a ballast resister
if you wish to use the low ohm injectors then you will need to add either the original ballast resister block to the power wire feeding the injectors
or wire individual 10 ohm resisters to each injector to bring the resistance from 2.5 ohms to 12.5 ohm minimum
( 14-16 ohms is actually more correct for saturated mazda injectors )

well since the harness is an offset notch like you said, why was the original harness that came with the car a center notch? It was completely stock from the factory as an 88 turbo 10AE. If the harness that I have currently (with offset) is an 88, then it would be the same as the stock 10AE harness wouldn't it?

found this on another thread.
If this is true then I am currently using Hi impedence injectors with the right plugs. When originally the car was running low impedence injectors.
So theoretically they're both 550cc injectors but the new ones are high and the old ones are Low. As long as the injectors match the plugs that wouldn't be the cause of my current issue at all would it?
I think I need to simply run a fuel pressure check and see if I have a leaking injector, not that I believe they are basically the same.
lol sorry folks i know this is a bit confusing.
Just the clarify...
The low-impedence 1986 - 1987.5 FC turbo fuel injectors are *purple* brand new.
When faded, they look gray / tan.
The high-impedence 1987.5 - 1988 FC turbo fuel injectors are *red* brand new.
When faded, they look pink.
Both sets use the rectangular "Bosch-type" plug, but the keys are offset due to the difference impedences.
The low-impedence, early year ones are center keyed.
The high-impedence, later year ones are offset to the side.
