Proibably. Like I said before, there are several plugs that are not in use around the area of the relays. USUALLY the power wire in a plug will be BLACK/YELLOW or BLACK/WHITE. Those wires usually are only active if the key is to ON. I'd buy some wire taps from radio shack and put one on the YELLOW wire on the harness connector of the fan plug/s. Tap it to one of the wires I just mentioned and turn the key to ON. If the rest of the system is there, the fan will turn on if the green/black wire is off the water temp switch on the thermostat housing.

HAVE YOU EVER SEEN THIS FAN WORK BEFORE?

im assuming that if i supply 12 volts there the fan will work like normal. from what i understand....the way it is activated is by some control supplying ground. 12 volts is always there and its just waiting for a ground connection.

since my 12 volts isnt there i guess thats my next step. get the required 12 volts supplied and then it should work. if not that means there is some sort of grounding problem....

im new to car so is this correct?
Yes. 12dc is there anytime the key is to ON or better and the fuse is good.

If the green/black wire is pulled off the temp switch, then a relay will never be pulled in and the result is that relay (in the cotrol unit if I remember right) will put a ground on the fan and it should run.

EDIT: OOPS. No. When you pull the green/black off you remove a source of ground for the fan relay which makes it relax. That in turn supplies a ground thru the fan relay to the Control Unit. Actually the ground seems to be from the control unit thru the fan relay to the fan. Anyway, you can now see why IF the green black wire is off the temp switch WHY the fan would/should come on.
