Winshield Wiper Motor Pin Out

I need to find out a way to hard wire a toggle switch to my windshield wiper motor. I just need one speed, any speed, a medium one would be preferred. I just need to know what pins I need to get to switched 12v and what to ground.

Thanks in advance.

Go to the FAQ thead at the beginning of this site and look for the downloadable wiring schematics.

12vdc is ALWAYS at the motors elect plug when the key is ON or better.

What makes the wiper motor move, is putting a Ground on either the blue/white wire or blue/red wire.

These same blue/white and blue/red wires can be found also at the wiper switches elect plug. Putting a gnd on either makes the wiper motor run.

So go to your wiper motor with a piece of elect wire stripped at both ends. Leave the plug attached to the motor. Backprobe one of the wire mentioned above with one end. PUt the other end of that new wire to any gnd area. Key ON. Motor moves.

I don't have any wires going to the motor, I have the female end on the motor and the wires from that to the motor obviously. But I don't have the male plug or where it goes to. So puttig a ground to a wire when there is no power going to the motor won't do me any good. I need to know which one to run the power too also.

Does anyone know where I would need to run the wires on the motor to make it function off the stock wiper switch? I do have the switch and the wiring for it, so I figure the relays and whatnot are probably still there. Where would I need to run them to make the switch activate the motor? I was told the stock plug is on the engine harness and came out with the swap, so I'll have to make my own wiring.

Page 50-44 of the free, downloadable wiring diagrams. The link to it is in the FAQ thread at the beginning of this site.

The wires from the switch go to a plug under the drivers side of the dash with a ref designator of FC-01. IT attaches to the Front harness and the wires in the Front harness travel over to the passengers side of the interior and end in a plug with a ref designator of FEM-01. On a stock complete car, that FEM-01 connects to the EM harness and the wires in the EM harness travel to the wiper plug in the engine bay.

You can see the wiring on page 50-44 and the pinout of the above plugs also on that same page.

You should have said your EM harness is missing/butchered/missing/whatever. See the pages mentioned above for routing new wires.

The wiring in the FSM looks *similar* to this jpg.

OR, if you look at the pages I mentioned above, you'll see a picture of the wiper motor plug itself. IN the top left corner of that plug you'll see the letter B. That is where the ground goes for the motor.

In the top middle you see the letter L/R. That is where the motor gets a Switched ground signal to make it work a one speed.

IN the top far right you see the letter L/W. Another switched gnd signal to make it work at the other speed.

IN the bottom left you see an astrik (sp). Nothing goes there.

IN the bottom middle you see the letter L/Y. Just forget that.

In the bottom far right you see the letter L. There is where the motor gets power. It's a switched 12vdc by the ignition key. DONE.

I already got it hard wired no problem. One speed, but I quite frankly don't care. I could get a 3 way switch later and make it 2 speeds if I really wanted to. It would be nice running it off of the stock switch, but isn't really much of an issue.
