Window WOnt Go UP?!!!!!!:wallbash:
Hey whats going on ppl . The past couple of days I,ve been having trouble with my window, it wasnt going up or down, so i took it apart cleaned the contacts. In the process i blew a couple of fuses but i put a higher amp rating so it wouldnt blow. I ended up taking the whole side panel off too see if i can narrow it down , it seems though that the window will go down cuz i can hear the a click for it to movoe but i dont get anything if i try to move it up all the connections seem to be working, i havent yet tried to jump the wires, But i was hoping if any of you knew if it would be cheaper ( even though cheap and rx7 dont fall in the same category) if i replaced the whole assembly with a crank or chould i just buy another switch.

Never ever ever ever ever ever put a higher amp fuse in that what the factory rates.
The fuse is to protect the wiring... by putting in a higher amperage fuse than what is rated, you can cause a fire and melt down of the electrical system.
A correct value fuse blowing indicates a problem on the circuit.
In this case it sounds like you probably assembled the switch incorrectly and have burnt out the switch, wiring, or motor.
Also you didn't say which window is having the problem, are you sure you fixed the correct switch?
Fix the car, don't bust it further. And if you are thinking about putting in manual windows because you fucked up the wiring and or switch, well maybe you shouldn't work on your car any more.
