will third gen struts fit on a second gen?

quik question. i did a search and found nothing. question is, will third gen rex struts fit on a second gen? reason is that i might be able to get a nice set of struts from a third gen pretty cheap and my stock struts are blown horribly. thanks

i know the fd is an entirly different car but it could have utilized the same strut mounting patter or something. it was just a question. i don't have an fd to go and look at to check this stuff.
