Will the thermo temp sensor affect acceleration...if not what will?

Just got my rebuild put in..
well, the wire going into my thermo temp sensor was dryrotted and brittle.
i know this is a must.. and it has to be connected.
the damn buzzer "add coolant" comes on and wont shut up.

so im like damn!...

When I drive, it just kinda hesitates at 3k rpm.. however i intend on keeping it below 4k for the first 3 or 4 weeks... but if you floor it a little, it just bogs.

is the rad full? if you dont have the sensor hooked up or soemthing, jsut ground the wire to get it to be quiet.

is everything grounded correctly?

yeah. thats how it works. grounded = no sounds, not grounded = BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP

id reccomend fixing it, its a good tool to have, but if you dont want to, then yeah, just ground it.

Water thermo sensor or water level sensor. They are both very different things and located in different places. Waterthermo sensor is located on the back of the water pump while the water temp sensor is located on the top of the radiator.

Do you mean the coolant temperature sensor at the rear of the water pump housing? If so, the that's one of the most important inputs to the ECU. Without it, the ECU has no idea the temperature of the engine and it will run crazy rich.

If you mean the water thermo switch at the bottom of the rad, it's only purpose is to give you the 3800 RPM startup. You can safely disconnect the harness and jumper the two wires together.

The water level sensors is at the top of the rad in the middle. If it is disconnected, you will have a constantly buzzing "add coolant" warning. Repair the sensor or harness, DO NOT ground it to the frame as some would suggest. This is a VERY important warning, and without a failure in the cooling system (ie. blown hose) will likely result in a DEAD ENGINE instead of just a bad day.

ok.. thats what i was wandering... i didnt ground it out.. .
its the one behind the water pump housing, the damn wires are f'd up
i have to either get another plug from a junk yard (more than likely it will be dry rotted too.. or ill have to just splice them and plug them into the sensor.
what will happen, is it will run at first it will go past 6k rpm... but when it starts buzzin cuz its disconnected... the car will run all wack n ****... it will run normal up to 2800 rpm.. but if i floor it... it just gags...
