Will a S4 NA ECU handle boost properly?
I've seen a few NA supercharger projects, and have decided it would be worth looking into (with all the money I don't have and such).
Will the S4 NA ECU handle low amounts of boost properly? In the 3-5 PSI range? The airflow meter will show the increased air flow, and the ECU *should* add fuel as needed to compensate, right?
Also, will I have to put in any fancy timing retard methods, or just retard timing slightly across the board? Or will I even have to retard timing for low boost levels?
Finally, what sort of effect does a supercharger have on fuel economy? Obviously it'll use more fuel when boosting, but there's always a drag on the engine - does this affect things much during normal highway cruising?
