i wouldnt use atf. the detergent level isnt much higher than motor oil. yeah it works a little but i would use MMO. it is made to be used as a combustible additive for fuel and the detergent level is much higher than oil

whatever, i've used this method 3 different times on 3 different engines, two which were thought to be terminal, and it's always worked for me. As a matter of fact the first car i tried it on was doing the exact same thing, car sat for over a year bought if for 500 bucks did the atf trick, 24 hours later, presto, started right up with no problems. You should have seen the guys jaw drop when he saw me driving around in it a week later.
Oh yeah, I drove this car for five years after that with no problems what so ever besides the altenator going out on me. Passed emissions with flying colors too.

A friend checked the compression, my rear rotor has no compression I tried the ATF trick again and I can hear a little air coming out of the rear chambers when cranking without the plugs, before I did the ATF trick I could not hear anything coming out of the rear chambers. But is not getting any better. I think my is motor dead. Any suggestions.
Thanks for the help.

Remember this?
Now you guys know why I say that. It only takes a few minutes, and it rules out a BIG problem if you pass.
Not tryin to **** anyone off, just using it as an example.
Your only option is likely to rebuild it. a big fat 0 compression on a whole rotor always indicated severe internal damage that no fluid is gonna fix. IF you get uneven compression numbers on the same rotor, or just a low number overall(greater than 0-5) then atf *might* help you.
first rule of troubleshooting a questionable rotary: compression test

Ok, now that I read the original post again, from what it sounds like is you took possesion of the car, not left it there for two years and came to reclaim it. That makes a big difference on how you would be getting responses here about your problem. I would go and have this "friend" be straight up with you about the car and any problems he/she had before you bought it or had it given to you. Sounds like to me you were sold a car with a blown motor. Again, I missread your post and assumed you were the owner all along. Now it's just question of morals as to whether or not you were sold a car with a known bad motor or maybe they blew the motor and just didn't know what happened.
If this is not the case, then you need to tell the whole story on the car, everything up untill the point it quit running right, although hypntyz7 is probably right about your motor.

As consolation, I can do rebuilds starting from $1000, if you truly have a blown engine (if you have 0 compression, it is well blown). BUt yeah, I would confront the seller about the car's history and his knowledge thereof, maybe you can talk him into splitting rebuild costs with you, adn youll come out all the better.

When you stored that motor, did you "pickel" it with oil so that stuff wont harden up inside? If you just left it "as is " for 2 years, more than likely parts have frozen up inside. Seals may be going bad and apex seals may be stuck. If your exhaust checks out ok, im going to lean towards the necessity of rebuilding your motor.

I drove the car up and down the street in front of my house I got it up to 30 mph with my foot all the way down on the accelerator I did the ATF trick and the MMO trick and I checked the compression on my rotors but all I get is 5lbs for the rear rotor and I haven’t done anything else lately. All sign point to a new motor.
Dont know what else to do? I wish this rotor would awake from the dead!
