the STOCK fd BOV will fit directly in place of the STOCK FC BOV as long as its plummed ust like the stock FC BOV so that it exhausts into the TID.

The reason that you can't use one of the FD BOV "kits" is that FD's use a MAP sensor. Manifold Absolute pressure. Our cars use a MAF, Mass Air Flow sensor...

Basically, the FD kits exhaust the BOV to the air, and because they use a MAP sensor, it doesn't matter if the BOV allows air to enter the system under vaccume.

Because the FC uses a MAF sensor BEFORE the turbo and AFTER the MAF.. Exhausting the BOV to the air will screw up the A/F ratio at the ECU and if the BOV draw air under vaccume, it will cause a lean situation.

Plus.. the piping is totally different on an FD kit.

I said no, because you asked if an FD kit will fit an FC. It wont. But if you buy a kit for the FC, it will fit.

Years of Decay,

Just thought I would point out the fact that technically, we dont have either a MAP or MAF sensor in the FC.

Yes, thats why its more expensive than just the BOV, it comes with the pipes and hoses.

hmmm flapper door with a resistor attached that gives a voltage signal to the ECU.... (or a plunger on a resistor rail if you have an s5)... if thats not a Mass Air Flow Sensor.. what the hell is it? Really? Not being and ***, I'd like to know cause I'm a geek like that....

Here is a good write up on it. Yes, technically it falls in the family of the MAF sensors. But its the older style Vane AIR FLOW meter. A true MAF sensor measures mass using a more sophisticated system.
