If your car is lowered, you're going to have rubbing issues.

These are 97' cobra wheels. They fit great. They are 17x8. The 17x9's wont fit in the front, its damn close as it is with the 17x8's. If you race like i do, you might need to roll in the inner lip of the fender.

I went 2 seconds faster on these wheels with street tires on them at Black Hawk Farms raceway compaired to my stock wheels and tires. Much more performance tires available in 17".

I dont think they look half bad, and they didnt cost me huge cash like aftermarket wheels would.

no offense OC but i think those rims kinda suck. But I have seen some newer cobra rims that look really clean. I can't remember who had them on their car but they were black and they went well with the theme of the car.

i remember seeing those wheels, the where painted black by the owner and were GT wheel with no center caps because they had a prancing horse on them. Thats means rusty lugs and studs... I like these wheels because they have no ford/cobra logos on them. They look much better in person. All the RX-7 guys at the track came over to check them out

i like stang rims, how much heavier are they than 2nd gen stock wheels, and do you loose much straight line performance with them? i like wheels but i dont want to get a set to slow my already slow na down more than it already is.

The back rotor if forgot to paint silver so it's a bit rusty but i've been too busy to really care. I don't think they look too bad with out the center caps.

make fun of my car if you want.........but for a daily driver i'm not droping alot of money in it.

I think those look pretty nice, for what you got them for, you can't go wrong! I wish there was a center cap available for them though that didn't have any ford logos on them.

My cobra wheels weigh 4lbs more then the my stock 'double 5 star' gxl wheels. The heavy parts are the tires!

Strange thing, even though these wheels are heavyer, i had less breaking problems with them at the track then with my stock wheels. I think this might be because these wheels let more air through and the breaks can cool better.

I think the Cobra wheels and the accompanying tires would be too heavy and could possibly have a very noticeable negative effect on acceleration performance. Personally, though, I think they look very good and if you're running way too much power for 8" of tire, I'd say go for them, if you can't afford Welds.

I don't really like the idea of going beyond 16" in diameter as well, as rotational inertia is increased a significant amount when upping your wheel/tire size.

they are quite light for 17x8's

22lbs for the 99 gt's
with tires they are about 46lbs

my FD ones are lighter but these won't crack

those 17x8 were lighter than my stock 16x7 (both with tires)

I'm actually pretty concerned about unsprung weight.

Im not sure if they lightened the wheels or not from year to year, but I have the same wheels as you, and they weight in at just a hair under 17lbs each. I wouldnt have bought them at 22lbs, thats a tad to much for my liking. I cant tell by your pic, but mine are painted a very metallic silver, are yours the same or is it a dull finish? heres a pic or 2 of mine:
