Will this become catastrophic?
Will this become catastrophic? Rebuild just run 10 minutes at high idle and I did a leak check and noticed wet between the intermediate housing and rear rotor housing. I would guess its coming from the dowel pin area, but I cant tell if its oil or gas. It's not leaking but the wet part creeped a little over night overnight. Its not real wet but looks wet. I circled the area from a rebuild picture. I did put the o-ring for the dowel which was on the rotor housing side.

u put the o ring and nothing else ? no Hylomar kind of thing ? or vasline to hold it in place?
cuz there is a chance that when you put the housing in, the ring falls off and ... u know.

if you used a bunch of vaseline/hylomar/crisco on it, it will run off and make a mess. if its really oil, then something is wrong, maybe you used the wrong oring, its similar to the oil filter pedestal, and i've seen it happen. it could also be that you spilled a little filling it, or something too
so i'd clean it, and wait, if it stops leaking you're ok. if it keeps leaking, you can either make a giant mess, or take it apart again...

Ruined my day thinking about it, but I I marked it again and ran 10 more minutes at 1500 rpm. It appears it may be a false alarm. I don't see anything else creeping but will check later. I'm thinking it may be residual vasoline where I tapped the oil tube in. I hope that's it anyway. As for Hylomar, yes I used it for the o-ring and mating outer surfaces.
