Will aftermarket front fenders without rear fenders look silly?
Hey guys. I've got two Corksport Fenders I bought from a fellow forum member some time ago and now I'm having second thoughts about them.
They add 30mm clearance, so I assume they stick out 30mm further. Do you think this small difference is going to make the front of the car look wider than the rear? I've only ever seen one picture with the CS fenders installed and I don't remember what it looked like.
Opinions?

I don't think so personally...
IMO... the front fenders would be OK stock if the REAR fenders matched instead of the wheel being thrre freakin feet inside the fender... The front wheels are like 1/2 and inch inside the fenders and the rears are like three... I've always HATED that..
SOOOO by putting the 30mm overfenders (which isn't all THAT much) on the front, and running like an 235/45/17 with around a 27mm offset on an 8 inch wheel on the fronts and like a 245/45/17 on a 9 incher in the rear with a 30-35mm offset on the rear with the stock fenders would look pretty damn good!!!!!

My advice - try it out and take pictures! I was just thinking about this the other day as I plan to run 17x9's all around. They should fit fine in back but will stick out quite a bit in front and will require the full Corksport fenders. I'd like to see a pic if you do that, I'm sure it will help others here!
I do have a pic I snatched from somewhere, not sure where, that appears to be the Corksport fenders on a car with stock rear fenders. HOWEVER, it appears the rears might have been rolled and flared slightly so it may not be a fair comparison.

I might have to flare the rears anyway, if the tires protrude more than I like. I'll have to wait and see.
i remember doing the math a while back and figuring it would work...i am planning to go 17x9 +15 in the front and 17x9 +28 in the back.

Here's the Mariahs on mine. Personally I think they look good.
You don't need to add rear fender to match the fronts, Mariah makes the fronts to allow running the same size tire all around in a size that normally wouldn't fit in back. Our cars already understeer a bit, you don't need lots of rear tire unless you're making lots of power.

solodrift on www.teamfc3s.org has the Mariah front fenders, running a 255 on a 17x9 +15 and it fits like a charm... your Corksport fenders should be the same size/fit. you can fit a 265 tire out back with anything from +30 to +25 without roling the fenders. a 275 fits out back on a +25 offset but you might need to roll the fender lip a bit dependingon how wide your 275 actually measures.
go for it man! you should put those front fenders on!!!!!!!!

Ok, this is kinda off topic, but I just want to know. With the setup you guys mentioned (F:17x9 +15, R:17x9 +25-30), who makes the wheels with these special offsets?
I've searched for a couple of manufacturers that I like: Volk, Work, 5Zigen, BBS, and so far, 5 Zigen's FNR01-C comes close with +15, +35, which I assume should fit fine in the back. For Volk, I believe TE37 (+15,+28 close enough), CE28N (+15, +35 again, maybe fit?) match. Work can be customized by 1mm increments, BBS, I think only LM can be customized, others I don't have enough info to know whether it fits or not.
So what are you guys running, or plan to run when you move to wide front fenders and go for 17x9 all the way around?

Excellent.
Do ya'll think the rear wheels are going to protrude past the fenders at all?

I'll be running AIT front fenders along with Work Termist TM1 wheels (17x9 +15 all the way around) to allow me to use 255 all the way around. Later, I'll move up to 275s in back.
Rishie over at AutoRnD did the calculations and suggested the Work line over the FN01R-Cs that I was considering.
There is a pretty substantial price difference (about $850 for the FN01R-Cs versus over $2000 for the Works), but for the look and fitment, I think I'll be fine.
Those are the TM1s in the background of my sig... Mine should be here later this month. Yay!

Copycat... I think they look absolutely awesome. They should go really well with my fresh paint and other assorted body parts (AIT front fenders and bumper, Rotary Extreme Mazdaspeed stack wing, turn-signal eliminators, East bear headlights).

How about a link to your post?
Edit, nevermind. https://www.rx7club.com/2nd-generation-specific-1986-1992-17/wide-body-progress-pics-teaser-404400/
Those fenders are waaay bigger than the corksports.

why not go with the ''cheaper'' solution?
its not like the FN01R-Cs are ugly or heavy or dont fit.
therye light, fit perfectly and are inexoensive plus they can be replaced easily enough.
I'll be selling my current FN01R-Cs in 17x8/17x9 (both +35) so that I can run FN01R-Cs in 17x10 all around (+12 front and +25 rear) with 12mm-16mm spacers on the fronts. 275 front tire, 285 rear tire, tripoint replica front fenders (50mm+) and Msports 30mm rear fenders... that should provide enough grip under WOT and keep the handling well balanced front to rear for hitting the corners.
