Will 8.5 inch wide rims fit into stock fc wells all right?

hey guys just wondering if 17x8.5 in rims would fit under stock fenders.
also wondering what you guys thought about doing it. Any problems i would have? (plus i have no power steering) Thanks alot guys
(btw i searched with no luck)

with the right offset and tire choices you can. you probably can't do more than a 235 in the front without rubbing.

That'd be a heck of a tight fit up front. I have 17x8" wheels with 235s on the front, and have less then 1/8" to clear the fender, and less then 1/4" to the springs (more now, just got coilovers).

8.5 will be hard up front it depends on your offset really

We're discussing that RIGHT NOW.
I think it was Catharsis who claimed you can fit the 8.5" up front no problem?
I wouldn't go much more than 8.0" myself up front.
Stuffing a 225...235 wide tire is tight enough as it is up front.
The 8.5" you rally cannot take advantage of, since 245 or 255 is best for such widths, but really tight to fit up front under stock fenders (no rolling).
