wierd noise when i get out of first, and into neutral

wierd noise when i get out of first, and into neutral

i have an 87 na and when i shift out of first i makes a noise like a bearing is going out. any ideas and how serious.

I'm assuming it sounds like a chain being dragged across a steel pipe, right?

If it is, it's probably your throwout bearing. You'd have to drop the transmission to check it out and if you're going to drop the transmission you might as well replace it since it's a $30 part.

but i changed the throw out bearing. the one the slave pushes on right. it comes with the clutch kit right. i still have a bearing i could not find where it went though.

Sounds like the pilot bearing you didnt change. Could be the noise your hearing.

well the bearing i got is different than the one rx7 have it was about inch in inlet diameter and an 3-4 of a inch thick isnt ours really small.
