Widest tire on Stock 10AE wheels? Searched

I searched but couldnt get a straight answer. I have 205s up front nad 225s in the rear currently. What is the widest tire I can fit on these wheels w/ and w/o stretching the tire. I want to retain the 10AE wheels but want more grip. Thanks.

225's are about the widest you can go before the sidewalls start to get funny.

maybe 235. maybe.

205/55 r16 falken azenis sport's are surprisingly grippy, probably gripper than alot of 225's.

I would say that 225s is about the max you will get.

are s5 TII wheels the same width? or wider (kindof off-topic, but I have a set of those and they'll probably be on my 10AE shortly)

I have 225 on the fronts 245 with some nitto extreme performance partially dry rotted tires on the back my stock TII wheels, I hardly use them, I just put them back on recently to burn the **** out of them, no problems at all though, in the canyons or screwing around in parking lots or whatever it may be, they held up perfectly

Sure, I am always looking to meet people with Rx-7s in general. I havent seen any in good condition yet, cept for this silver convertable in Newton following a black FD. I dont think they knew that they both had the same cars just different years, haha. But yea, look me up when you get yours running. What kind of 7 do you have?

I have some Mickey's in the back that are 255/50 with stock T2 wheels, but I do NOT recommend for daily use only for the strip. About the most you can get out the of stock wheels safely are 225/50's for daily use.

I run 225's all around on my 88 base. 225/50/16. On stock size TII wheels (16x7, +40). I'm not running TII wheels, just wheels with the same exact size and offset. I don't have any problems, anywhere. See sig for suspension set up. Car dropped about an inch.

All years and versions of US Turbo II wheels are 16x7", so yes, your 10AE TII wheels are the same size as S5 TII's.

245s with some decent sidewall height will fit 16x7" wheels. Can't say if they'll fit under the fenders well though. Between myself and some friends I've seen WAY over 100K miles on 245/50/16s on 7" width wheels.

That said, 235s will probably handle better.

Just get some wider wheels. I have 9" rears with 275s on my stock fender'd FC.

I have an 88 sport, silver, with 60k original. I just swapped in a jspec turbo engine, but I am having some trouble trying to start it (traced it to a malfunctioning fpr). I have a bunch of other stuff on it, but you'll see it hopefully in the next few weeks.

245 is a bit crazy for a 7 inch rim. depends on the tire manufacturer though. I'd run 225.
