took some pics of my recent changes and I figured some of you guys might wanna see the pics since I see a lot of questions here on widebody setups and what to buy, who has pics, who has done the install themselves and where to get parts and what wheels to fit and such...
-cut about 2 to 3 inches off the rear fenders, only about 1 inch forward near the doors, this gave me plenty of clearance for the new wheels/tires, had a friend stitchweld the fender sheetmetal after cutting it off.
- 17x10 fronts, +12 offset, 275/40R17 kumho MX, using a 1/4'' wheel spacer over extended lugstuds and oem lugnuts with the ends cut off (now open ended)
- 17x10 rears, +25 offset, 285/40R17 kumho MX
- front Tripoint replica fenders, about 65mm wider than stock - $380 shipped from www.RaceOnUSA.com
- rear Msports replica fenders, 30mm wider than stock - $300 shipped off ebay from FatBoyGarage
- gotta love the tweaked spoke design on the 10'' wide 5zigens
my water temp gauge in an autometer mount cup.
CF dash panel from Speed Machine Performance

this is the ugliest spot ever for the heater logicon lol
other than that, great job dude! now paint that bitch!
why 275 in front??? I guess 245 would have been alright....

True that- and the rivets make it look hardcore. I say don't smooth em over.

yeah I have re-thought the logicon placement and its pretty awkward, I think it'll end up in the glovebox if I cant ''disassemble'' it and make it 1/4th the size.
yeah the fronts are probably 65 wider then stock but they offer just enough clearance for the 275's while turning and thats especially important while flogging the car at an autox on bumpy surfaces. I love them, theyre great front fenders.
Sure, a +12 out back would probably look ''better'' to some people but the +25 offset lets the superwide 285 fit with 1/4'' clearance inside and outside. With a +12 and a 285, it'd be really close to hitting these new fenders and I scored a good deal on these specific wheels. the RaceOnUsa fenders were delivered within 14 days of buying them online, not bad, packaging from both companies was top-notch. the front fenders only took a 3-4 hours to remove the stock fenders, drill the holes in the right spots on the new fenders and move the sidemarkers over... not too difficult, no cutting involved.
245's up front will suffice only until you go larger than 265/275 out back, then handling starts to suffer. I ran on 235 fronts and 255 rears for a few months and had traction problems out back (350 lb/ft tq!!!!) so in order to run a 285 rear tire I figured a 275 front would be good to keep the car balanced and it has come out perfect. I ran the car today at a test-n-tune autox event and its just handling beautifully. On these street tires I still came within 2 seconds of the FTD, from an Elise and a Z06 on Rcomps on a 47 sec. course, wow! the FC chassis' capabilites own!
with the 285's out back the stance is almost identical front to rear, because the kumho 285 is actually a full inch wider than the kumho 275. I do like the RaceOnUsa rear fenders and how nicely they match the fronts but they need to be moulded in and I didnt want to get into that much work or cost, Ive seen them on Rx-bens car locally and theyre beautiful once finished but I cant afford CCW wheels like he has.. to run 335's out back! yikes! so, since a 285 was as big as I was gonna run, the rear fenders I bought were right for the job. its too bad the MX isnt available in a 305 wide size, then I would run 285 fronts and 305 wide rears... maybe I'll try some V700's in 315 R / 285 F

Looks great ![Smilie](https://www.rx7club.com/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Im glad your 285 on the rear fit because I just bought the same flares (except the Msports for the front as well) and Ive got 285's to go on the rear as well![Smilie](https://www.rx7club.com/images/smilies/smile.gif)
now just have to wait for my Gp'sports kit and can start to get it all installed![Smilie](https://www.rx7club.com/images/smilies/smile.gif)
also how much does it cost to get the extended lugstuds put in ?? or did you do it yourself ??

Get some better springs and a camber adjster on the rear tires because your old *** stock stuff makes you camber negative and it's bad for your tires and ultimately affects handling :-)
(i'd have done that before cool body work)
But to each their own :-)
Cheers,
Matt

I did the lugstuds myself and I cleaned out the wheel bearings while I was in there... very simple. but its probably easier to pound them out if you keep the hubs on the car (and dont have ABS).
