Why would you use autolite plugs

Im working on a 88 GTU for a friend, and the damn thing has $1.90 autolite spark plugs. Not to mention the orings for the oil filter pedistal are leaking and the oil cooler has to be replaced.

Too much damn work.
I am amazed it is running this well with these plugs in.
You guys think using some of my old plugs (they had 200 miles on them before my motor blew) should be just fine, if not better then these autolites? I think so.

Btw- Gtu's are fun! Alot nicer then my 88SE.

remember a plug is 100 year old tech. Some plugs are better than others but in a stock motor.....

NO, NOT TRUE IN THIS CASE. Autolite plugs are so bad it hurts my brain thinking about them. I had a friend who cheaped out on spark plugs and decided to use Autolite plugs. His motor just went back into his car after being totally rebuilt over the past month. His #3 plug misfired and destroyed his piston. They found the spark plug in a few different pieces. I don't even know how that's possible.

I used autolite spark plugs for...about three days.

autolites and bosch +anything goes in the garbage. i've seen electrodes break off and go through motors before, autolites also like to break porcelain, threads and sometimes do not like to come out of their homes...
