Why wont my rx7 fire up?

I just bought a 1987 rx7 non turbo. excited to get in and go, but it will not seem to fire up. It will turn over, if i shoot it with some starting fluid it will fire up but will not run. Im justwondering if my injectors are plugged up. or maybe if i have a bad ECM. any help of ideas would be great.

If it started on starter fluid I'd say you do indeed have spark. It seems FUEL is not there OR the AFM's electrical plug is off the afm.

Make sure the afm plug is on. Then jumper the fuel check connector near the right strut tower. It's YELLOW in color. Two sockets. Put a piece of wire b/t the sockets. Turn the key to ON. You should be able to hear the pump run.

Tell us when you last had it running.

If its been sitting a while there could be a number of reasons. Injectors could be clogged, plugs fouled, gas stale. Or it could be that you just have a real bad vacuum leak, give us the car's history.

Make SURE that your injector clips have power. I went over my whole engine harness, no visual breaks in the wire, but there was no continuity between the clip and the big plug so I had no fuel. Had the same problem you have right now. But do what hailers said, take a wire and put it in both sides of the jumper plug, it's a whitish, yellowish color, depending on how faded it is.

here is all i know. its been sitting for a couple years the kidthought that the fuel pump was bad so he replaced that and the filter. so i cranked it and shot it wiht starting fluid. it wants to fire but i wont run. it will start to fire but wont run. so i pulled the fuel rail with the injectors still plugged in and attached to the fuel rail. nothing came from the injectors.

so i took both injectors out. hooked a test light to the injector plugs and got a bright light. so i have power to them and as i did that fuel was pouring from the fuel rail. (with no injectors in it).

thats all i can think of now is the injectors. but the thing is would all of 4 go bad at once?

the only reason that i point towards the injectors is because no fuel came through. im getting a pressure test to see if im getting enough pressure to the injectors but you would think that they would atleast drip or something. but im not getting even a trickle.

so im stuck. i talked to a few people that have had rotarys. most are telling me yes its more than likely the injectors. although one person did tell me that those injectors never all go at once like that.

so here i am stuck with a stunned what to do look on my face.

helppppppppppp.....
