Why is my car doin this at start up now!!!!???
Ok, well my car was starting up just fine and now it seems like i have 2 little minor problems
1st off= Im not too sure if its my starter or something but now at times its clicking but not power ring up the car and i have to turn the key about 7 or more times for it to get started up.
2nd off= When i get the car started up i have the rev the engine up so it wont stall out until it gets warm, I never had to do that before..... why is this?
and mind that this is a new upgraded engine with only 1500 miles on it
please help me out here guys

Nurse I need 1300cc's NOW
well have you had your battery load tested??? a weak battery could make start up hard. and if your getting a clicking sound,, that sounds to me like your low on cranking amps. you will still get lights and what not .. but you wont have enough power to turn it over. .
if you haveing trouble keeping it running unless you rev it a few times. that could also be battery/alternator related. but it also might be because of compression isnt 100 percent there. like you said that you have a new upgraded engine. if by that you mean rebuilt. then you might still be breaking it in . just my guess. i would solve the battery/alternator problem first ,and see if that kills 2 birds with one stone

well i have a new alternator and the battery just got completely charged up so i really doubt it could be eihter one or the other
and the thing is, that it dies out when i start it unless the engine is warm, i have to keep it at 3k rpms for 30 seconds
.......so yeah...... very lost here

Recheck all your connections.. Sounds like your 3k startup is disabled. Also, did you do the TB mod by chance?

that clicking might be a bad clutch pedal switch, if its bad you'll just hear a click when you turn the key. when I bought my car it wasn't working so I yanked it out and stuck some wire in the connecter to complete the circuit and it works like a charm.

I have the same problem with it dieing when its cold outside. For me, at least, its not a problem of low power. The volts are up at the normal level. For me, it acts similar to if I cut the fuel pump, it kinda stutters and dies out. Is there any possibility this is a fuel related problem, such as a clogged fuel filter?

I have had a starter just click a few times and not start. i also had a starter stick on me and keep trying to start the car even with the key off and out. Turned out to be the starter cylinoid. the shaft gets old and wont engage, just another thought, also check all grounds, try taking a ground wire from the neg battery terminal and ground it to the shock tower, then take another wire and run it to the engine block, ALSO one more thing, get down there with the starter and check the wires at the starter itsself, They can come loose

I am pretty darn sure it is just starter related...solenoid or starter itself.
In other instances it is voltage related, like bad battery and so on but your case points to starter.

I had the same exact problem with my car, starting it and having to press the accelerator to keep it alive when it was cold.
Then, before starting it I would leave it in the on position for 10 seconds or so then start it up. Got rid of that problem.
