Ok, I am curious and would also like some EGR clarification before i start ripping apart my intake manifolds.

I have a 89 NA and am having probs with idling, running rich, backfires.......yada yada yada........
new TPS is on its way, gonna change water thermo sensor, wanted block off my EGR valve while I'm down there.

Here's the thing, i have a VDI manifold, i haven't removed it yet but looking down under the manifolds....i don't see the EGR valve. I have read that "there is no EGR valve on S5 NA's" and I am inclined to believe it since i couldn't find it. the funny thing is i am getting an ECU code for "EGR solenoid valve" among other things.
How can i have the code WITHOUT an EGR valve?!?!?!?!

I would love some 100% clarification if anybody has it.

thanks
