Who's drifted an NA?
I have an S4 NA, it's not purpose built but i'm putting on tein springs tokico blues and some strut tower bars, also running sotck manifold to 2.5" straight through exhaust with wired open ports. Would it be worth it to pay to go to a $75 drift event with the car or will it not really be any fun?

omg.. this is the stupidest thread ever..
fun soley depends on your view..
i own an S4 SE with a shitload of upgrades.. still isnt even running due to some issues.. but i would KILL to be able to join one of the events..
if you like driving, it doesnt matter what type of event it is.. aslong as your driving the car you like (in my case my 7)

Ok, i retract my statement, will my measly powerless NA engine be able to keep the tires spinning for more than 3 seconds. I haven't even tried going sideways before because...
A) Drifting in the streets is retarded
B) Shocks are busted right now(don't have the new ones yet) and i just wheel hop the car to pieces when cornering hard.
So i was just asking for advice.
I definately don't plan on going to be competitive, only for fun, I've only even autocrossed twice before.
Twice is more than you i bet though david moore, I will roll you up when i have a 62-1.

I used to drift my NA... Not very well.. but I did it... If you have any skill, you'll be able to do it no problem. I could get sideways for LONG corners... breaking traction initially is the hardest part.. from there its smooth sailing(sliding).

i have an 87 NA, and i was able to drift in a circle around my buddy's car the other night. (it was mostly luck, as i have very little experience.) only went around once, but it was still fun as hell.

drifting the n/a is easy, but not as easy as drifting 240s. Use alot of weight transfer, rip the ebrake, rev the **** our of the motor and pop the clutch and get ready to countersteer because it will swing out quickly.

no, its the easiest way to brake traction... why would you pop the clutch on an FF??
it'll just dart you straight into a wall in a corner..??
i drifted my gxl (_RIP_) i had before in the streets (mainly big lots like Sams club or Fryz)
i used the light posts as obstacles (drift around them) and i didnt have a problem..
you just need to be able to sense when the car is comin out.. then just input throttle and steering corrections and your good to go.
E-brake just helps you along braking traction at the start..
or pop the clutch locks up the tires (but puts quite a bit of strain on the drivetrain)

The e-brake is used at slower speeds or for earlier initiation into corners. It helps slide your car sideways while not using power to more you car to the inside of the corner as quick.
The clutch kick is to keep your car sideways in the middle of the drift and can help start the drift at low speeds as well. It is useful on long corners with a lower powered car that starts lose angle.
They are both used by newbies and pros alike.

Plenty of people are THAT dumb.... You need to get out and meet some people. At LEAST 1 out of every 4 people are THAT stupid.
