so a company that manufactures and sells RX7 parts won't have templates for sale??? Go tell Mazdatrix they're losing mounds of profit by selling templates.

The OP HAS a turbo so I don't know what you're trying to say with "those would be for turbo's."

Also, REA is a tuning company more than one that sells parts (although obviously they do both), and Japanese tend to have far less of a do-it-yourself attitude, so for RE-A in Japan, it makes more sense to keep their templates proprietary, since their rebuilt engines START at like 4K, not including porting (IIRC), and they'd probably get more rebuild customers by keeping the templates to themselves.

check out FC3S.JP and then tell me there is "less DO-IT-YOURSELF" in Japan.
ah. I see now. The OPs NAME has TII in it so I assumed he needed the TII templates. I just re-read the title. My bad. Either way, MAzdatrix would be the best way to get the templates. Anything too extreme and the car will be almost undriveable.

really from what I've seen and pineapple just really drove the point home. Most templates are going to be on the conservative side and server usually as a good "starting point" however you can leave it just like that. Basically thats what I'm doing with my rb streetport right now as a matter of fact. Their "race port" exhaust template is pretty damn big but thier streetport is small so I'm going and making it alot bigger. Then I will spray paint through the runner on to the original template after I have finnished up the porting and that will make a mark on the original template material so I can then make the second port and any port job afterwards the same size.

There is no "best" porting template because every port is a compromise of some kind.
Mazdatrix's templates are conservative because they tend to realise that people expect certain things out of a street car (cold starts, idle, decent gas mileage).
The best template really depends on your goals. What are they?

I'd say it's at least 20 times smaller than the amount in America.
