Would it be possible to have a black background with white numbers but have the numbers glow blue at night?

I'm working on someting similar to this for my 85. I'm doing a slik-screened set that has a black face and white letters, but they glow red at night.

I can probably do black faces with white numbers that light up blue, but the blue will be a little different in color (not as bright).

Does anyone have a picture of what the 86-88 boost gauge looks like? Are the marks the same with just different numbers? If the marks are the same I can just change the numbers then I will have templates for 86-88 NA and Turbo.

I'm waiting on an 89-91 turbo template, when I get it I'll get kickin on making faces.

yeah that rotor would look cool, you could also add some lettering like FC TII on the turbos. Is there timeframe you are thinking they will be ready. Just wondering cuz I know Im gonna blow all my money soon. I would even settle for the NA guages, cuz I already have an aftermarket Boost gauge. Have you tossed the idea of silver?

One more question. Could you make a matching one for an aftermarket Tach?

These look great. I would like the rotor on the tach. Don't know about stock boost guage. I wouldn't mind not having it at all and just using an aftermarket guage. I don't know what you could put there though.

As before, those look great. I also think that the rotor on the tach would be great. I can't wait to see them installed!

I'm all for it

what color and it had better glow
how about white?!? w/ a silver outline that doesnt glow
may be a lil complex. But youll see it faintly during the day and itll show up nicely at night

they look good btw, except for the flaws you pointed out

my gauge

i have only done one gauge in my car white face (the tach) why...? cuz it took meh 12 hours to get that far. i had to cut small pieces of tape over all my numbers and notches. then i spray painted the guage (all the blemishes are not visible cuz the bezel covers the marks) i just wanted to know you guys thought i gave it a C

Very interesting. That's the look I want! Cutting the tape masks must have been an awfully tedious process. Could you describe the process in more detail?

Hey just wanted to give an update on the faces.

I'm still waiting for my friend to put the faces in a cluster to test fit and see how they look illuminated. I want to do this before I go and start to make a few more so that I don't waste my time making the same mistakes. That and I'm not going to offer them to anyone until the design is complete 100%

I think I might look into also making them with orange numbers/ticks because a few people have shown interest in this. But no promises.

Looks like 70$US is going to be the pricing, in groups of 10 at a time (I don't want to have more requests than I can fulfill per time frame) with a turn around of probably a week or two once I get the details for each set. Yea I know this sucks but as 1 person doing it by hand, going to school, I think this is about all I can handle. That and the first batch will prob only be 86-88 NA or turbo w/ the boost gauge deleted.

i posted in the other Thread, but;

im in! i want them in silver, or 'brushed aluminum' if you can pull off that look.

i think people would prefer to NOT have the 'Shift up' light, u are right.

i also think people would prefer to have them back lit ONLY, as opposed to lighting up the front of the guages too.

i would like to have numbers on the speedo at EVERY 10 mph increment, instead of just 20 mph increment. i hate the current set up.

and also, can you put #s on the Temp gauge instead of H and C. cuz its alot easier to trouble shoot by saying, "man, im running at 190*" instead of saying "damn, im runnin at 5/8's " know what i mean?

and as far as the Rotor stencil. i would like to have that in the center of my Tach. i would Also like to have "Savanna" under the rotor logo. since, in Japan, our cars are Savanna's, not Mazda. or, you could substitute Savanna, for Mazdaspeed. now that would be sweet.

i would like a set of them for my 88. and if i ever get an FD, id probably want a set for that too.
