Where to get rebuild kit?
I am going to have someone rebuild my engine and he told me to get the seals I want. Where can I get a good kit or individually if cheaper? I want good products so keep that in mind. Thanks.

rotaryaviation has a new set of apex seals+springs. They are cheap right now.. 138 for all 6.

I got mine from Atkins. The two piece apex seals were easy to install. Because they are a "little" softer than OEM, they wear in better. My rebuild is producing 100psi of compression on both rotors so they obviously work. www.atkinsrotary.com
The price they gave me on a full rebuild kit was much better than the advertised price on their website by the way!

Your first post mention your mechainic spec'ing the parts needed. I would follow his instructions. However, i do have one question, did he make the list before he took apart the motor or after? If before, you might buy too much. Basics include o'ring kit and install gasket kit. I personally replace all springs, Apex seals and corner seals. I inspect and measure oil control rings and side seals. If one is bad and others are marginal I replace all.

All non-hard parts (minus front and rear main seals, pilot bearing, and seal) for $160.
If you replace the apex's, Rotary Avation seems to have the best deal.
If you replace your Rotor bearings, use FD Bearings.
I'd probably E-Mail Rotary Avation about everything else (Side/Corner seals, etc)

From an old post..(didnt want to type it out)
You can reuse corner seals, side seals, and ALL teh springs, if you feel so inclined. Apex seals and oil seals are a must. You can reuse the metal oil carrier ring, but must replace the rubber o-ring inside. You must also replace the rubber corner seal plugs.
IT is cheap enough you should go ahead with FD corner seal springs and new side seal springs, Oil seal springs arent a bad idea either, but theyre usually reuseable. Apex seal springs do not wear down from new, in my measurements of over 20 core motors.
Rotor and main bearings are always ok to reuse unless theyre showing brass. All internal o-rings MUST be replaced...the external gaskets are sometimes reuseable, depending on how you are at removing manifolds. I always get teh appropriate gasket kit anyway, which comes with all teh o-rings AND gaskets for the entire engine. For a t2 it will run around $250-300. Apex seals $225-250, CS plugs $20, oil seals $100, oil pellet(e-shaft) $15, FD corner springs $30, sideseal springs $30. Prices are approximate depending on where you buy from. Atkins offers very good pricing and good products, I use those in my rebuilds."

Yes. I just bought mine from them a few weeks ago. It comes with everything, even the fd corner seal springs. The only thing that it did not come with that I can think of were the oil seal springs. Aside from those everything was included.

heres the total price spent on materials
atkins 2 piece apex seals
$280
complete gasket kit from fel-pro with every seal
was $ 150 because i ordered a 12a... it doesnt make a difference when it comes to internal seals
intake and exhaust manifold gaskets seperatly cuz 12a doesnt match the 6 port intake and the exhaust ports are different so that was an extra $25
93 corner seal springs- $30
thermal pellet- $15
Rotor and Stationary Bearing- $50 bucks all 4
housings and rotors were in very good shape.the side seals/springs and corner seals were very good shape. my car had 140,982 miles when we took the engine apart so if u add up everything it's 550- not that bad
280+150+25+30+15+50=550
91 c5 vette red painted Mazda RX7 FC3S
13b rebuilt (painted red n silver) atkins 2 piece apex seals, 13b-rew corner seal springs

215/45/17 Racing Hart C2 evo's wrapped on kuhmo ecsta 712's
