Well there arent any Mazda mechanics here in Tucson other then Jay, at "RX for your 7". He is (or was a few months ago) not taking any routine stuff, he only does high end things. So that leaves me with the dealer. No thanks... I am a competent rotary mechanic, and I have been working with piston motors since I can remember. I am an electrician by trade, so checking for ECU codes was no big feat. If its not possible to swap the rotor housings, how come my front rotor is stamped "B" and my back one is stamped "F" on the top of the rotor under the TB? If you know something I dont, then let pleaselet me know. As it stands now, I already have another motor and tranny from a donor car I bought 2 weeks ago. I was considering breaking the motor from Mazda Recyclers (henceforth "MR") apart and getting it ported, then rebuilding it. I am not upset that MR won't take the motor back, they have a 1 year exchange. Too bad for me. But they were rude and uninterested in my dilemma when I called. Not a good way to foster a positive working relationship with the rotary community, in my opinion.

I believe you might have an engine from someone that "MR" might have sourced it from. Don "the builder" was not building engines at that time you have bought yours. He was off doing something else for a few months. There is another place up the street that builds them....MR must have source them from them....who knows???? I cannot believe that they would not take it back to look at it....if you were closer. it might have been a different story.

If I was in your position, I WOULD feel the same. Once a company provides **** as a product, I do feel cheated.

Rebuild it....better....stronger....faster....

Good luck.

Thats my goal..So I just consider it a lesson learned. If MR has gotten a reputable new builder then by all means, buy from them.
