Where to buy blinker fluid?

Hey guys i'm kind of stumped on this one.

This is in an S5

So my right side blinker isn't working in the rear or the front. Bulbs seem fine (but I must be honest I haven't actually tested them). The light in the cluster doesn't come on. If i turn on my hazards, only the left signal comes on, and only the left cluster light turns on. When I try and signal right, I get rapid clicking on the relay.

I pulled out the CPU and it's fine. I pulled out the board and had my friend, and electrical engineer, test it. While in the car, I get voltage at the Green/Yellow wire when the lever is switched on to the right.

Does anybody know how I should proceed? I'd think that if a bulb were out then at least I'd get one of the blinkers and the light in the cluster would come on double time, but I'm getting symptoms of a bad flasher board even though it works fine.

Perhaps I should have titled it 'Synthetic Vs. Regular: Which blinker fluid do you prefer?' to get the maximum number of views

The Green/Yellow wire comes from the Turn Switch and not the Hazard Flasher Unit in the CPU. The G/Y wire sends the signal from the Turn Switch and then the signal as it is received at the Flasher is taken and passed on to the Green/White wire as it is this wire which goes to the front and rear right side turn and flasher lights. I looked at the S5 diagram to help understand your problem.

This. Lol. But if worse comes to worse try to source a known working CPU. I would sell you mine, but it's S4.

Yep definitely need to verify proper output from flasher relay first, then if that fails I believe I have a good s5 CPU though from a vert but if needed $15 shipped via usps flat rate

The contacts in the flasher relay could possibly be corroded. That would explain the clicking but no light output. When in doubt, check everything.

In response to the title, auto parts stores generally keep turn signal fluid on the same aisle as the muffler bearings.

okay! I will check the green/white wire when I get home today. Perhaps the board is bad after all. If it is my friend is a terrible EE

Also: got it. next to the muffler bearings. thanks!

i just fixed this on mine. its actually a very simple circuit. the switch turns on the flasher, and the flasher switches the light bulbs.

so if you hear the click/click the switch/wire and half the flasher are probably good, you need to look on the bulb side.

mine was a bad solder joint between the flasher body and the board. i think it might have been the ground, but it kind of looked like that's how they flasher was attached to the board.

if this wasn't an FC, i'd say you should check the bulbs first, but the Kioto bulbs are beyond excellent.

The blinker fluid pump stops working when your head gasket starts to leak. :/ I recommend getting your car serviced at autozone.

Okay so I'm not getting any voltage at the Green/White wire with the switch pressed to the right. As a control, I checked the Green/Black wire while the switch is going to the left and I do get a constantly changing voltage. So I guess this means my flasher board has gone bad.

(My friend is in my schools master's program for electrical engineering )

This may not be true. Again, the Green/Yellow wire sends voltage "from the turn signal switch" to the flasher unit. If there is no voltage on this wire when the signal switch is set to the right turn position then the flasher unit will not be able to work properly so you need to check for voltage on the G/Y wire to prove whether the turn signal switch is the cause or not.

I do indeed get voltage at the Green/Yellow wire when the switch is set to 'right'.

Thanks for your help!

It looks like I'll have to either figure out how to fix this flasher board or source a working one.

Locate the pins on the circuit board which relates to where the G/Y and G/W connect to and resolder these two pins and you may be able to remedy your problem.
