Wheel sizes "SOME ONE PLEASE HELP"
I am looking to purchase new rims for my 88 rx7. I have a body kit, full sport suspension and a few engine mods so trying to move up slowely. I am at the rim stage now. Currently I have 18x8 all around. The problam is I am sick of my rims, not only the style but the width, I am looking for some gram lights or some advan rims. But I am trying to find the right fittment. I am looking for 17x9 or 17x10. The only problam is that I do not know what offset to get. I am looking for an offset that will give me a agresivse stance, both width and height. As I said the problam I am having is trying to find an offset that will give me a fat lip at least 3 inches. The only thing is I do not want to damage the inside portion of the car, or my turning radias.
Can some one please help me out.
Thanks.

17x9's will be hard to fit up front without putting on some stretched tires. 225s are as wide as most people go. 17x10s will fit in the back, 275 width tire, +35 seems to be the magical offset. Do the same for the front, but get 17x8's and 225s. You'll understeer a bit, but it's better than rubbing.
Oh yeah, and there's a massive wheel/tire fitment thread for FCs that you can search in the suspension/wheels/tires section.

I run 17x8 and 17x9 on my FC. The 17x9s fit out back just fine, +35 offset, they are almost flush with the fender. If you go with something like 17x10 you're going to need something like +30, maybe even +27 to get em out far enough. At that point you're probably well out past the fenders though.

Short answer: not going to happen
Long answer: with hipari, it might work, but I don't recommend it.
Do you own a turbo?
It's a fricken waste of time running such "heavy" wheels on a non-turbo.

I used to have "cobra R" 17X9's all around on my n/a, i think the offset was +27 on em... with the 2" drop they cleared everything just fine, but were within mm's of the front struts (tien ha's) also had to have them stiffer than $hit to not hit the front fenders on big bumps. ran 255/40/17's all around. now have 18X8's on my TII offset +35 with 245/35/18's no clearance probs, even with my new GP kit
