wheel base on 86 compared to turbo2

ok so i was wondering if anyone knows if there is a difference in wheelbase from an 86 4 bolt to a turbo 2 car? also if they are the same can i then fit the turbo2 rearend, aka pumpkin and halfshafts? will they go right into my stock rearend...

just wondering if the hub housing is the same from 5 to 4 bolt, other than the fact that one has a 4 bolt hub pressed in and the other has a 5 bolt hub pressed in... cause i really really want to keep my 4 bolt pattern, and i was wondering if i can get some turbo2 disks re drilled to fit, and the mounting point for the calipers will line up , thanks guys

Paul

why would you like to stick with the 4 lug? The 5's would offer better performance in the long run and open up more rim choices for you, that and drilling 5 lug rotors to fit 4's is a big safety hazard.....im going for a 5 lug swap myself here in a few weeks...merely a matter of buyign the junked parts car up

thanks

Well the wheel base is the same but I am unsure about teh fitment of the pumpkin, though I would assume its all in just the strength of the gears so it may fit right up along with the half shafts. THe only dif between teh N/A and TII stuff IIRC is that the turbo model was jsut beefier than the N/A as far as trans mission and gearing.

The wheel base is the same regardless of if the car is a Turbo or Non turbo, however that does not really seem to be what you are asking.

The differential assemblies mount in the same location and use the same subframe, however the Non turbo drive shaft will not bolt up to a Turbo differntial assembly. Conversely the Turbo drive shaft will not bolt up to a non turbo tranny.

So if you are trying to go the heavy route (as the Turbo rear end is heavier than the non turbo, yet the overall gear ratio is the same for manual tranny vehicles) and convinced you need to waste your time and money on a Turbo rear end, then you will also need a custom drive shaft, or Turbo Tranny/flywheel/clutch/clutch slave/ and Turbo drive shaft to make the Turbo rear end work.
