My car had all the problems above but i fixed them and i also got a brand new engine and i mean it, everything is brand new from mazda, turbo was new from garret everything was new, also all the electrics were re wired by me, lots of the circuit boards re soldered, and she started everyday and switched off with no problems.

 

oh yeah only I know how to get it into reverse LOL

 

Well it's good to know I'm not the only one with busted wipers. Here's my collateral damage:
Wipers um... yah don't work (to be fixed when I actually have time to ship them off)

Car stalls at idle if it hasn't had time to warm up (dunno how to fix that, I think it might be that the plugs are too cold)

Leaking wiperfluid.

Powersteering is often questionable.

Sunroof was a problem, but somehow it fixed itself (dunno)

Oh and driver seat is really seen the end of it's life (to be fixed in Feb.)

And the paint on the roof is peeling (to be fixed in Dec. when I get it repainted Gold which happens to be the sickest color on a RX7 because I've only seen 3 other gold rx7s ever!)

Yah and radio workes when it wants, I'll be doing a whole interior/eletrical mod come this summer with the reman engine. It's gonna be sick.

 

My add coolant buzzer continually stays on, does anyone know where I disconnect it, or what I can do to fix it. My fluid levels are fine. Its just a short. I looked through my manual and disconnected something I thought was it, but it didn't work. Sombody please help me, its an earpiercing sound that won't stop. Thanks.

its on top of the radiator and it has to be grounded.

wiper switch and headlight switch, only brights work
boost creep, but thats my fault
lots of damage, some because of dumb girls
front diff mount!! now fixed, had an exhaust shop weld it together. cost me $50 and thats less then a new mount, not to mention the headache of replacing it

 

The idle going braaaa braAAAA braaaa BRAAAAA SO DAMN ANNOYING!! and my damn drivers side lock now wont ******* open the car. I look real cool going threw the other side lol. Moon Roof needs a little help to move. O and GAS SUCKS lol but that doesnt bother me.

 

oh yeah! thanks for reminding me, my drivers side lock cylinder is busted too! I just don't bother locking it, since the top is always down.... nothing to steal in there anyway!

edit: if your worried about looking cool, you can make it look like you meant to open the passenger side for a reason, just pretend you needed something on that side :p
of course if your friends are ridding with you, your screwed.

Really, everything works...except for the mysterious smoke from exhaust once in a blue moon.


Though, I fixed sunroof, pass side window, coolant leak, oil leak, other misc leaks, clock repair, exhaust leak and on and on...

 

My GXL is in need for a new motor, and I'm looking for one.... anyone got a spare one with good compression / runs ?

Not to mention that the rear wiper on the gxl doesn't work. Ever since I got my windows tinted, it's like.. broken. Haven't figured out why?

Fog lights don't work.
Hazard lights and turn signals don't work.
Just last week the passenger side window won't roll down.

But it still goes like hell.

 

No engine in it, trans, d/s, etc...hehe..TII swap in progress....been partying a bit to much lately though.....need to get back on track..

Electrical short of some sort..... my interior lights dont work, and radio flashes on then goes out when you turn it on--other then that--runs great

Wiper Harness is *****, but i have a new one on the way. :-)
Front right caliper is leaking break fluid.
Need serious paint job.
Vert top ripping. bad... :-(
Had bad clutch, just got new one.
Vert seats ripped and speakers in seats dont work.

Still love it though! :-)

 

The microtech is playing up but it's been sent to Sydney as I write this to be fixed. Just had the motor rebuilt (extend ported, dowelled, 3mm seals) and now the microtech is causing probs. Should be back on the road soon though!

 

Rear calipers shot (new ones waiting to go in), wiper switch ("manual"), air mix motor (now "manual"), shift buzzer doesn't buzz, power antenna doesn't go up (though it does make a noise), rust... Mechanically very sound, runs strong, no leaks, interior ok. About 110 k on car. Gonna get the body/paint done up next summer, all new metal. Then suspension, wheels, motor, in that order.

 

Just got my RX-7 about 2 weeks ago from a retired couple (they said they put a few hundred miles on it in 4 years) so it's only got 114K miles, new motor, clutch, blah blah ..
anyway, the only problems I have are mostly electrical (wipers are crazy, clock comes and goes, retarded 'SHIFT UP' light -not really a problem, but im gonna disable the %@#$ing thing-, speakers work half the time, inside dome light doesn't come on when the doors are open, stock radio don't work, horn doesn't work, etc. )
-moonroof doesn't open unless you push it (looks like the tracks are all sticky)
-windshield has a giant crack along the bottom
-back window tinting is all bubbled
-once in awhile the idle pulses
-sometimes after i turn off the car, on the passenger side outside you can smell coolant so i think i might have a leak
-as of today, the motor started shaking more than normal (not sure why, but it shakes pretty bad and sounds like its about to stall)
as soon as i get a few days off from work that its not raining, about 75% of these problems are gonna be fixed.
other than that, after driving it for 2 weeks, I LOVE THIS CAR! heh.. can't wait till i get it all MODed up, it's gonna be sweet

 

the qustion should be whats NOT wrong, and mine would be nothing, LOL

just had to add to the my previous problem list:
- Rear Defrost lines are cut in some areas
- now BOTH headlinghts are out (dealer-only item, and no dealer has them in stock )
- and just today, WON'T START!

I went to go start it this morning, crank crank CLANG!, starter seems to be trying its hardest... but not moving. Seems like I have foreign object in engine dammit...

 

as of about two weeks ago the transmission gave up the ghost entirely.. oh well..

probably should replace PD since i've hit 125k miles

passenger power window motor is almost dead
