your car only has one caliper on it now? sounds scary! if you mean pistons or pots then that makes more sense. stock 4pot brakes are more than enough to handle street and amatuer track time. i would stiffen up the stock system with a brake master brace, stainless lines and some good pads.

i wont waste $2000+ for a big brake kit....unless i was making crazy power that is. stock 4pots are fine.

Rebuilt stock calipers at NAPA for $30. Hawk HPS pads. Seriously. These are real sports cars (no offense 240 guys) and as such have real brakes. Unless you are doing track days on super size r comps, the stock system is more than you will need.

If you want to stop better, just get new rotors with higher quality pads, flush and bleed the system. Get better tires.

I'm running stock 4 pots....

Whenever i can afford it, my *** is jumping on some cross drilled or slotted rotors, something that keeps fade in check, braided lines and hawk pads.

Spikerderailed came over a while back to pick up a downpipe from me. We spent probably 30 minutes talking about running zip ties up the lenth of a stock brake line to keep line expansion in check as a quick fix. He swears it works. I may try that until i have the funds but dont know if the zip ties would work their way through the line.....which would suck.

Ksport makes a nice big brake system for the fc, check their website out. and theres always fabricating a big brake kit, but i agree with all the others that the stock brakes are good too.

4 pot fronts and single pot vented rear, brembo blanks crossdrilled and slotted, ss lines, master cylinder brace, kvr carbonfiber pads, dot5.1 redline fluid, as for the ziptie trick it does work to some degree we did it on our motocross bikes and it was very noticable

Stock 4 piston, Hawk Hp, and brembo blanks = Great stopping Win

Seriously there is no reason to go Big Brake unless you do some SERIOUS racing, and putting down power that stock components wont let you handle.

Old setup, same all around. Autozone rebuilt calipers, Powerslot cryo treated rotors, Hawk HP+, Goodrich steel braided lines. S5 TII Brake booster and 929 master cylinder. The stock Turbo\Vert master cylinder is 15/16" in diameter, the 929's is 1" in diameter and about 1/4" longer I believe.

On the car:

Fronts removed, after the car had been sitting for a bit. The rotors are covered in surface rust from rain while she sat.

New setup, rear rotors & calipers left alone, for now. Fronts replaced with an Endless 6 pot "mini" big brake kit which consisted of mounting brackets, two piece forged 6 pot calipers, 324x30mm two piece floating discs, Endless CC-X pads, and some slick braided lines. 929 master cylinder is still in place, however I am redoing the brake hardlines and adding an adjustable prop valve with pressure guage. While I'm in there doing that I'll ad a line lock just for ***** and giggles. Once all that is done I plan on having a master cylinder brace fabbed up.

Maybe overkill for most, but I do have a bit of wheel with a large contact patch and sticky rubber to slow down...

lol okok i messed up u know what i ment about the one caliper thing. But yea i might just go ahead with the 4pot set-up and some powerslot plus rotors there good. I already have s.s lines so dnt need that, but the 4pot will do for awhile until i get bigger tires that is. But the new stock set-up ima put together from what yall put should be great for the fd power.

if money wasnt an issue... endless ftw... ksport are nice too, but i say if your taking your car to the track or pulling some serious numbers then you should be looking into this, if not then stay with the stocks, they work fine.

The stock 4-pots were so good, they put them on the FD. That's good enough for me. My GXL already has them, so I'm going with Corksport SS brake lines, Brembo blanks, Hawk HPS+ pads, and Ate brake fluid for autocross. That is, once I track down a slow brake leak that's developed.

If you are really experiencing fade, then the last thing you want is put cross-drilled rotors on (which reduce the thermal mass of the rotor and they eventually crack).

If you are experiencing a very still pedal and no stopping, you need to replace your pads. If you are experiencing a squishy pedal and not stopping, you need to flush your brake fluid. If that doesn't work, then check your master cylinder.
