whats the deal???
i just installed my rb downpipe and pre-silencer. its good except the downpipe gets red hot.(is that normal?), also the presilencer was painted in some silver paint, now its flaking off has that happened to anyone else?

I can't tell you what's up with the red-hotness, but pretty much any paint on a component that close to the engine (the presilencer) is going to flake off. fuhgetaboutit.
so how is the sound? what kind of cans do you have on the back?
right now I have stock up front with a Borla catback dual, and I have the RB d/p and p/s on my shelf! just waiting to go on! I am expecting a rather drastic increase in noise. can you describe?

When you say 'red hot,' do you mean it glows red, or just gets really hot? I dont think it is supposed to glow red. I have had the rb presilencer for over a year, and it hasnt flaked at all, but doesnt ever glow red either. It only has changed color a little in some areas to a bluish shine. But i dont have the downpipe either, so i dont know if that makes a difference.

in the back i have a rb cat back. the noise compared to before is maybe about twice as loud. but its still not too loud and its not annoying sounding. but i also think i have a leak where the dp connects to the manifold. (i forgot to buy a new gasket
)
do you think that the leak would make the dp glow red hot? also if i shift at 4k it backfires. i know backfireing is normal, i just didn't think it would happen at such low rpms.
