what is it worth?
i have a question, how much could i sell my'88 rx-7 se (auto) for? i need money!
it is red (orignal paint in good shape still glossy) has a few very minor dings. 101,300 orginal miles. the stock stereo was going out and i had a local stereo store put a new alpine am/fm cd receiver in it.which is 5 months old now. the motor as far as i know is in good shape. engine compartment is very clean. tires are good. one of the tips off the muffler broke off(preveous owner) and i just haven't got around to fixing that. but i plan on repalcing that muffler pretty soon.
the interior is in good shape. everything works, except the sunroof, which only partially opens (i think it jsut needs to be re-alined)
What i am asking is to an average person. what the car would sell for? i was offered $3000 in cash for my car a while back. which i should've taken but i didn't need the money then. i am the washington(the North west.) how much could i sell my car for? to the average person that is.
thanks.
oh yeah i have never had an problems with it ecept it flooded sometimes, but i got this thing off of mazdatrix.com that stops it from flooding and it hasn't flooded yet. it always starts very reliable car.

wow only a $1000? i see cars like mine being sold for 2500-6000 bucks!
But i am thinking about getting some flyers up with a pic of my car and info and give them to a few peopel at work to post up at the navel base 10 mintues away from where i live. yeah you heard of Puget sound navel base and USS CARL VINSON? that and many other ships are around here. i asked my boss and i told him about my car and he is good judge on this stuff and he said i could sell my car between 3000-3500 bucks. so i am going to try and sell it for that much and see if the squids will rack out there cash! ahaha

3000 seems a bit high. From what I've seen, at least in south florida, you could probably get $2,500 for it. But again, a car is worth as much as someone will give you for it, i'd list it for $3200 and see what you can get.

You should get the resale value from http://www.kellybluebook.com first to get a good idea of what the car is worth.

Since it's the base model for 1988, you'd maybe get $1500~2000 here in the spring (Milwaukee, WI)-- and that's assuming that rust is not a factor. If the car is perfect, maybe a bit more, but the reality is you have a 14 year old car, and it's not really desireably to the RX-7 community. To the average person, the rotary can be a scary proposition unless you are very mechanically inclined, or know someone that is.

Just remember its an auto with 100k+ miles on the original engine. But they are right, list it for what you seriously want for it, see what happens. I paid $1700 for my 88 GXL with 110K but had a rebuilt engine.

Yeah, I agree with most of the other posts... not more than $2000, closer to $1500.
I just bought a 88 Vert a month ago with 100K on its clock for only $2500 from a local dealer, so there is no way that and Auto SE is gonna sell for that.

I just checked out KellyblueBook.com to check on what my car is worth and it said $3325. So what i figured before that my car was worth $3000 i was about right. So i am going to try and sell it for $3200 OBO.
So good luck to me on selling my car.
