What is the value of a GTUs rear end?

I am trying to figure out the value of a GTUs rear with 49k miles. It has almost never been in the rain and always garaged in Arizona.

As I am sure most everyone knows it has a 4.33 gear and is a n/a rear.

I have tried searching but the search engine on this site can be pretty buggy.

Anybody know what the asking price should be?

Sorry mods, move me if this is in the wrong section

How many miles on yours?

That is about what I was thinking, $300.

I had a buyer for mine at $350. But it all depends on who you're selling it to.

Also, its a 4.30 gear, not 4.33. And it being kept in the garage and not driven in the rain isn't going to matter, nor will the mileage, since its a viscous differential.

Then I must be propagating a myth because I have read in numerous places that it was a 4.33. I have seen it as 4.30 as well.

But I disagree with your assertion that being kept in a garage and not driven in the rain doesn't matter. It makes it more appealing to me so it must matter on some level.

I would pay a premium for this rear end say for instance, as opposed to one from Jersey that had 130k miles.

What your saying is is that it doesn't matter to you....

By the amount of interest already shown in this rear it matters to some others as well. The person that is building my 20b n/a has got dibs already on it anyway.

Thanks for the interest but I was just trying to get a good idea of it's value...

The R&P in your rear was a 4.10 I bet. That is why the GTUs is sought after. It is LSD 4.3 gear.

Some people don't really need the extra strength of the Turbo rear and it is 20lbs lighter than the TII rear.

The thing is that if you want a N/A LSD with a 4.3 gear you would have to buy the gear from say Mazdatrix. They sell a 4.3 R&P for $653.00. It is much easier and cheaper to just buy a GTUs and be done with it.

I love my rear end. Its totally worth it! Dont really worry about the milage and rained on or not, because he has to wash it. just watch out for bad mounts =/

The GTUs rear end isn't the same as every other NA rear end. Its a VLSD with a 4.30 ring gear, apposed to the 3.9 or the 4.10 that the other NA's have.

But I disagree with your assertion that being kept in a garage and not driven in the rain doesn't matter. It makes it more appealing to me so it must matter on some level.
Please tell me how a differential being kept in a garage and not being driven in the rain would effect it in any way compared to another one that has been.

I didn't ever say it would effect it.....I said I would rather a buy a low mile rear end that had never been driven in the rain. Of course a good washing will take care of the dirt.

So, I guess to make you happy I should not tell the facts of the rear that is in my car. I have just stated the facts.

Maybe you should read what I said......
