those cans of fix-a-flat? once you use them on a tire, that tire can't be repaired... the vulcanizing fluid on a patch will not chemically react with the fix-a-flat chemical...So your $10 can saved you the cost of a tow...but you now need a new tire.

When I get a tire repair...When I break the bead and even smell the stuff... I just go up front and start askin' which new tire they want...don't even attempt to repair.

U could always sell em another can of fix o flat......haha, J/K

On the subject of weight reduction, has anyone built their own aluminum dash? I was thinking about it. Btw i'm 2470 with 1/2 tank, no spare and the rear half of the car is gutted.

The Rx-7 has 50:50 wieght distribution with
a full tank of gas
and a passenger

As someone already said: remove EVERYTHING under the dash, power steering, Air conditioning and lines, heater core and lines, the insulation under the whole carpet, remove the radio, speakers, and anything you can live without.

If you're building a track ONLY car then I'd go as far as removing the bumper supports, get a lighter hood, bumper, 1/4 panels, remove the power windows, power sunroof, replace the doors with fiberglass copies, lexan windows all around, 15" or 16" lightweight rims on fat tires, remove the dashboard completely and replace with sheetmetal and custom install a new tach, oil pressure, fuel pressure, etc. etc.

I will start working on a FG copy of my dash as soon as I have some extra cash for materials.......I have never liked the custom sheetmetal dashboards. I have yet to weigh my car after I gutted it....

like a stock dash but in FG...I have some ideas flying around in my head and my drawing pad has a couple of design ideas.....my main concern is that I want my stock gauge cluster to fit in front of the steering wheel....instead of replacing it with an aftermarket HUGE tach(RE-A tach will come once i PORT)........I am still not sure if i'll keep the glove compartment or close it off. The radio surround will be 2 piece......one piece will have my boost, A/F, safc, avcr, fp, oil temp on the dash and the second piece will be a cover that will go on top of all the gauges to hide them.
