What Should I Do????
For a 89 GTU with low mods -
Full exhaust- no cats
Intake w/ air custom air box
Upgraded T2 550cc injectors (if needed)
some suspension and drivetrain work
I researched and found that leaning out the N/A's helps produce power, but i dont know what i should get to do that.
I have read that the S-AFC2 is pretty bad for a piggyback, but I've also heard that the Rtek 2.0 is only for S4 model years. I dont want a full stand alone because i dont think it would be needed with such minimal mods.
Do i have any other options or should i just get a stadalone?

piggy back is ive heard a good investment, but i have to do so, search for mods and check around, dont take just one persons feedback, consider the whole.

Well, a stand alone is something that can be applied to bone stock setup. Don't think its something reserved for huge single turbo guys.
Any modern standalone WILL run the engine better than the factory ECU, even in stock trim (but it won't do emissions ) and it will also allow the flexibility to control ANY upgrades you can imagine (bridgeporting, forced induction...everything). Whether or not you want to is up to you, your tuner, and your pocket book.
In your case, being N/A, don't do the TII injectors. You will run rich and actually lose power.
Your best "bang for the buck" mods on an N/A will be exhaust, intake and suspension.

only thing ive done is my exhaust, intake, performance springs and struts, performance spark plugs, and performance fuel injectors and thats all the power i need to make this damn thing cruise. my friend in the local rx-7 club is getting me into drifting. the rx-7 is great because you dont need to spend exorbent amounts of money to make it good enough for the track. oh and if your already n/a id keep it that way. put a turbo on and you loose alot of that instant power the rx-7 gives.
