for my personal tastes though, I think 19 is getting significantly too big, plus I would want to get bigger brakes to help with managing the extra torsional inertia as well as appearance.

-Originally black, was painted Metallic candy apple green.
-Had Dubs or possibly 22's on it before its motor caught fire, landing it in the yard, as told by the remnants of either the "20"" or "22"" jewel "encrusted" logo on the fenders from Dub

16x7 all around on the NA (205's)
16x8 all around on the TII (225's)
I don't think you need anything bigger. Those running bigger rims are either running 17x7's or 17x8's (18x7's or 18x8's) and have the same width tire that I have on my 16's right now. The only reason why you should go 17" or higher should be to fit some nice 17x9+ or 18x10+ on some fatty tires.
If you want it to "LOOK" nice then go 17 or 18's. Otherwise stick to 16's with fat tires.

I just put a set of 16x8 Wedsports all the way around on my 89 n/a track car, 205.50 front, and 225.50 on the rear. I think I could put the 225's on the front and 245.50's on the rear without any problem. The wheels only weigh 14 pounds each, I can tell a difference on my 89 n/a in acceleration and braking. Got the wheels at Tire Rack.

Man, I love the RX-7 in silver. I wish I had that... Oh, right wheels. Got stock phone dial 15's. Thinking about 'vert wheels in the far future to save weight.
I'm some kind of anti-ricer. I just got a fancy wax to make my white RX-7's finish last, but I never even wash my wheels.

zenneti alluminum wheels with new Falkens-235/45/z18 8.5 front 265/45/z18 9.5 rear with 25mm hub centrenic spacers up front-according to the PO.
The attached images are his pics too-mine are too big and I don't feel like resizing.
I would go with 17's personally, but these wheels do look nice. Bumpy ride though. Well, paired with some stiff adj. coilovers it's stiff
-Oh, the fronts are too wide. They rub when turning hard.

These are my 5Zigen's.
They were 17X8's up front with +35 and a 225/45/17 tire. The rear was 17X9 +35 with a 255/40/17. Some rubbing on front, but I am very very low. Very flush.
These are my BBS Moda's.
They are 2pc 18X8.5 with +32 all around. They all have a 225/45/17 tire on them.
Wayyy wide up front, im getting wider fenders, and they are almost flush in rear.
Im using Tanabe springs with Tokiko adj. Whites Illuminas.
This makes it very low, and is a nice setup for occasional track days.
