They're "cargo" tie down straps I believe. Luggage or other similar items can be strapped down and kept from sliding around the rear.

luggage straps... so when you're sporting around in your car your luggage doesn't slide form one side of the car to the other and then back again .

Well since we have hatches. Stuff tends to go flying towards you when you slow down.

They are cargo straps. I use mine to hold my sub box.

The latch mechanism is very simple.
The small rectangular piece goes through the middle of the square open box one.
the little lip in the rectangle one helps keep it secure.

They're great when you need to dump your extra oil and don't want it sliding around.

Without them my Sub would probably knock me unconcious when I take turns.

I sometimes use them to hold stuff down but since I have a back seat, things dont come flying at me when I stop

Theyre great for holding down speaker boxes. I had a box in my old FC and the straps would hold it very well. I never had it break loose and hit me.

I found they were absolutely useless and they served no purpose form me-no matter how Innovative I tried being. I removed them as they served to further reduce the weight of my FC.
