What needs to be done is a picture of the actual LIM on the car to verify, but its an n/a, and the only thing coming off the manifold right there is that metal line for the booster.

I'll scan a picture tomorrow. I was too lazy to look in the shed at the junk there and gave a flip answer. Could look at the wife's car also, but......I'm lazy. The Scathcat is most likely right. Got work to do now.

Great to see and answer finally!
They both have the huge nipple for the split air tube.

Ok.. that would be the feed from the air pump to the cat? If I have blocked off the ACV & removed the air pump. Can I leave this large nipple open? I have been for some time now with now apparent effect. My cats are long gone.

IIRC, the brake booster line bolts on via a banjo bolt onto LIM beside the ACV.... this is not what's pictured, as far as I can tell.

Yes.
If the ACV is removed and the passages sealed (gasket or ACV on the block off plate), you can leave that nipple uncapped without causing any vacuum leaks or any other problems.

Its not the brake booster line.
Its not the coolant line.

We know its an S4 N/A... look at the EGR valve located on the center iron.
Look at the ACV valve... Hose going into the ACV from the air pump, but no hose coming out of the ACV.

On the S4 turbo models, the air also travels through the LIM, but there is no nipple. In its place is a flange mounted pipe, mounted on the back edge of the runners. The EGR valve on the turbos is located where this pipe is shown.

Answer: Its the split air pipe which connects to the catalytic convertor on an S4 N/A only.
And here's a couple of scanned pictures of the unit. The pipe is like Scathcat said the feed for the split air pipe and the odd shaped hole in the acv attach area is where the Split Air comes from. The round hole next to it is where the Port Air goes to the exaust ports from the acv.
