What have they done here? (Wiring experts needed)
I have another customers car here about to be delivered and the new engine is fine..
Except, I found that the ECU had a wire clipped and bypassed.
This disturbs me greatly.
Heres the story...
On the ECU, terminal 1L (color L/W) (blue wire with the white stripe) is CLIPPED.
The wire that travels into the harness is them connected DIRECTLY to the back of the logicon.
On connector G-06
The BR wire. (brown)
The point where it connects to the logicon wire is TAPPED into it, it is not cut here like at the ECU.
- So the blue/white wire going to the ECU is cut
- The harness side of this wire is tapped into the brown wire of connector G-06 , the logical mode control switch (I) At the logicon.
The blue white wire is on page Z-30 of the 1991 FSM
connector B1-03, terminal 1L
It is supposed to go to the A/C relay from the ECU.
Like I said, this wire is cut.
the brown wire coming from the logicon goes to the:
- Thermoswitch, then the..
- Refrigerant pressure switch
...and then it goes to the ECU but to a different terminal.
On the ECU it goes to 1O (as is oscar) on the same connector as the cut wire.
so now the ECU has no connection to the A/C relay, but the logicon now does.
Everything seems to work, but WHY did they do this?!
It certainly wasnt to replace a broken wire in the harness.
Is this making sense?
here are pictures...

How's the refrigerant level? Does the added wire see voltage? They may have been trying to force the compressor to cycle for some unknown reason.
People do some odd things.
