if you do that and there is a short somewhere that would normally blow the right amp fuse, it won't blow the fuse and could possible cause a fire. if you use a fuse with too low amp rating it will just blow the fuse and no danger of fire. i would STRONGLY RECOMMEND THAT YOU DON'T PUT IN A HIGHER RATED FUSE JUST TO HAVE A FUSE. ALWAYS USE THE CORRECT RATING WHEN REPLACING THEM. sorry for the all caps, just don't want dude to cause a fire a mess up his ride or himself. stupidity=loss of life or car

It's like safety net and gives sort of hint of malfunction with least sustained damage.
Without following proper amperage both AC and DC you are literally playing with fire.
With all them electronics under the hood why do you want to chance it in the first place and what for?
