Well the front cover is on the front of the housing. The Oil Metering Pump is on that front cover. Go out to your car and look at the left side of the engine. See those thin oil cooler lines coming up and going underneath the throttle body? Those lines are connected to the OMP which is connected onto the "front cover".
The OMP for 86-88 are mechanically regulated.
The OMP for 89-92 are electrically regulated. Expensive too. Ithink they're about 500.00 bones to replace with a new one, and you don't even get super human powers with it.
There's a lot of info to go over. No short explination will do. So While you're doing the swap we can go over what you'll need to do. For instance the OIl cooler lines that come from the OMP will have to be removed from the OMP. They're very brittle and like to break easily- So you might end up buying new ones because you broke the old ones. And then there's emissions problems. One person here on the forum got an AFC to lean out the the gas being dumped in to pass emissions....
This swap can be done but beware you're going to have to work hard and stick with it.
