Depending on other issues, as far as dings/etc, I'd pay perhaps up to $2,000 for it, depending upon the condition, and anything else I could find wrong with it.

I paid $1400 for mine with 105k, a rebuilt engine that was overheating, good interior and body/paint. Turned out to need a water pump and radiator only. With these cars, they are worth what someone is willing to pay. I mean its hard enough to find a TII in your area. Just remember you will have to pay for a new engine or rebuild.

$2000 seems to me the high end for that condition.
Think of what it needs RIGHT NOW. New paint-- will look great when done, but figure over $2000 if done right.
New engine -- If you can do it yourself, under $1000.
It really depends on what you are looking for. Turbo II's are hard to find, and are more desirable than N/As for a number of reasons

Ryde_or_Die got it dead on. These cars are worth what they are worth to you. My '87 TII had 27,500 original miles on the car and it was worth every penny I payed for it (don't ask). But with a dead engine you should be able to get a very good deal.

I agree with Icemark. It's just a body. And not even in that great shape. I've seen blown S5 TIIs with excellent bodies go as high as 3000, 2000 for a mediochre S4 body seems a bit high. 1000-1500 I should think.

This may help. I recently purchased another 1988 TII. I paid $5,000 for it. The body and interior are excellent with an upgraded BAD *** stereo. Also has Borbet wheels and an HKS exhaust system. I got it at this price because after checking the comprssion I told the seller this engine MIGHT go dead at anytime. Thing that got me was the body AND the interior are EXCELLENT! This is unusual for out of the MANY I looked at, most were torn up pretty bad if not trashed and the owners STILL wanted at least Blue Book for them! So it is my opinion that IF the interior/exterior are in EXCELLENT shape, I personaly would go for it. That is because, like many are saying on this post, I payed what I did because I LOVE the RX-7's! Good luck to you!
