What engine oil do i use?

I'm really new to the rotary and I really don't know which engine oil to use. Before you start flaming me, I already searched the forum.

whatever engine oil you want, but don't use synthetics unless they are really high quality ones.

Your best bet is to use a good quality conventional oil in a 10w40 or so depending on temperature.

You also need to read the FAQ at the top of this section, as it answers a lot of questions like this.

From the FAQ at the top of the second gen section:

What oil should I use in the FC?
According to Mazda:
In starting and operating temperatures below 20F, use 5W30
In starting and operating temperatures between 0F and 80F, use 10W30.
In starting and operating temperatures above 30F, use 20W50

As said before, stay away from synthetics unless you know what you are doing....

Castrol is pretty good oil. I have 300 thousand on my caddy and its still running strong. I use castrol 20w50 all year long because its a heavy oil and less chances of blow by in a high mileage car. On the other hand, I use it in everything else because it keeps the engine running cooler.
