What else can i do while my UIM/LIM/Turbo is off??

Car: 1991 JDM savanna Rx7 turbo

So my Intake/UIM/LIM/Turbo/DP/Airpump/ and my coolant/oil are drained....

All of this was done to port my wastegate and delete all of the emissions related stuff that i can.

Anything else i can do while all this stuff is off??

Any good hose kits? or other mods?

Thanks,

Ben

Thanks for all the Input guys! Much Apreciated..

1. I have boughten the block off plates and they are on their way..
- Do need gaskets between the block off plate and the manifolds??

2. njectors will get cleaned/rebuilt friday...

3. Buying all new vaccuum hoses.. they are all hard as rock..
- Is it a good idea to replace all of the OEM ring clamps with those screw clamps instead?

4. I am going to see if i can get my wastegate ported at a machine shop, as i am not equiped to do so...

5. Im also going to replace all of the non-metal gaskets... I hate leaks

6. Does anybody know the best way to degrease the engine block/manifolds/turbo/bay?????

I think thats everything for now...

Cheers,

Ben

you should make some gaskets for the block off plates.. i did not and i had LOTS of vac leaks!

make sure to get some good silicone vac hoses, you will be happier down the road.

as for degreaser, a friend used simple green and it works wounders, i think you can get it at a autoparts store..

Ok so ive finished the TB mod.. it was actually very easy.. except now i have to re-adjust the TPS.

Im depating match porting the intake manifolds... so ill do more research.

Also, does anybody think i should replace those stupid OEM spring clamps on the coolant hoses with a screw type ring clamp??

Thanks,

Ben

Looks good. I might be doing the same here shortly, as I'm pulling the LIM in search of my hard start/ rich idle problems. Can the LIM be removed w/o having to pull the turbo?

I will never ever put a spring clamp back onto my car. I've had way to many problems with them. Screw clamps are cheap and easier to work with. My suggestion to swap springs for screws anytime you have the clamp off.

No.. suggestion though, take off the wastegate actuator and the trubo will fit out of the bottom of the car.

Ya i was thinking of going with zip straps as well, but i dont know if they will stand up to the high heat.

By the way, i think i put 7 heavy coats of paint on all the parts. That should do it huh.. haha
