What does the Accelerated WarmUp System do?

The AWS, is that the unit that plugs into the intercooler and is mounted on top of the intake manifold above the BAC? It has one hose going to the intercooler and the other to the BAC. What the heck is it FOR? Cause I just broke mine while taking off my intercooler, the nipple onto which the hose attaches to the unit broke right off and now I got a massive air leak there, so I just plugged the hole to the intercooler and the BAC. Do I need this thing at all?

Don't know what that hose is for but, I do know the (AWS) is to warm up the cat for emission and, is not good for your engine, it's more like the (accelerated wearout system).

I said that once, and someone jumped on my reply and said it's to warm up the O2 sensor, either would be a good reply IMHO. But you could buy one of those self warming O2 sensors, and a DP and MP....
